Driving directions to Askrigg

From the A1:
Leave the A1 at Leeming Bar and take the A684 through Bedale and on to Leyburn. At Leyburn, continue on A684 (left at roundabout by the Bolton Arms) signposted to Hawes. At the next village, Wensley, turn right just before the Three Horse Shoes and continue past Preston-under-Scar, through Redmire, Carperby and Woodhall to Askrigg. As you enter the village, turn right onto Moor Road (signposted to Muker) just before The Crown pub . If you pass the pub, you've passed us!. Thornsgill House is on your left with ample parking in front.

From the M6 Southbound:
Leave the M6 at junction 37 (Kendal) and take the A684 eastwards through Sedbergh, Garsdale, Hawes and on to Bainbridge. At Bainbridge turn left at the Rose and Crown, cross the bridge over the river (by the Yorkshire Dales National Park offices), then turn right at the T-junction for Askrigg. When you reach Askrigg, drive up the main street and bear left onto Moor Road (signposted to Muker) just after The Crown pub. Thornsgill House is on your left with ample parking in front.

From the M6 Northbound:
Leave the M6 at junction 34 (Lancaster & Kirkby Lonsdale) and take the A683 towards Kirkby Lonsdale. Stay on this road going through villages such as Caton, Hornby and Melling. Turn right onto the A687 to Cantsfield and Burton in Lonsdale. Turn right onto the A65 towards Skipton. After about a mile you go over a large river bridge at Ingleton, take the 2nd left after this bridge, the B6255 signposted Hawes. Go straight across the crossroads. Follow this road all the way to Hawes passing the famous Ribblehead Viaduct (mind the sheep!!) . When you drop down towards Hawes, turn right onto A684 towards Leyburn. At Bainbridge turn left at the Rose and Crown, cross the bridge over the river (by the Yorkshire Dales National Park offices), then turn right at the T-junction for Askrigg. When you reach Askrigg, drive up the main street and bear left onto Moor Road (signposted to Muker) just after The Crown pub. Thornsgill House is on your left with ample parking in front.
